Theatriks

Established in 1985 and housed in the Honey McGee Playhouse in the Arts and Culture District, Theatricks Children’s Theater produces three productions a year and offers three sessions of theatrical workshops and serves as an educational resource for area schools’ theatre curriculum.

Sherman Community Players, Main Stage

Since the Little Theatre Movement in the 1920’s, the Sherman Community Players (SCP) has been presenting fine theatrical productions to the North Texas and Southern Oklahoma region.

Community Series

The Community Series coordinates a community concert series each year that includes performances by the Sherman Symphony Orchestra and renowned guest artists. Venues include the historic Kidd-Key Auditorium and Wynne Chapel on the Campus of Austin College.

Sherman Preservation League

The Sherman Preservation League is custodian to a real community treasure: the C.S. Roberts House and Museum. An Eastlake House dating back to 1896, the house is open for tours each Sunday from 1-4 PM. Many original furnishings are still in the house. The house and grounds are available to rent for special events, and a number of regular events are hosted each year. The Preservation League also hosts an annual Tour of Homes in the spring.

Red River Historical Museum

Your source for area history, the Red River Historical Museum is housed in an original Carnegie Library Building. The extensive collection includes over 14,000 documents, 9,000 historic photographs and 800 books. Check their web site for current exhibits and seasonal events.

Sherman Symphony Orchestra

Not many towns our size host such a fantastic group of musicians. Founded in1966 by a group of community volunteers, the SSO has grown to over the years to include over 70 musicians that perform five regular concerts each year.
